Recent studies have shown a gradual increase in the proportion of female authors across various academic disciplines (see the current and predicted situation in nearest years in table 1 in this study ), the gender gap in physics remains particularly pronounced. Despite progress in other fields, female authors still represent less than 16% of publications in physics ( see this article ).

Female representation (28%) at the conference held in Tartu, Estonia, "Metric-Affine Frameworks for Gravity 2024" .
I am extremely proud to contribute to this unique volume, where every chapter is written by a woman. The editors of this remarkable work are Betti Hartmann and Jutta Kunz. Together with Betti, I had the great pleasure of participating as an invited speaker at the Festival della Scienza 2023, dedicated to our research and to addressing the current situation of women in science.
The foreword of this exceptional book is written by Jocelyn Bell Burnell, who discovered the first radio pulsars in 1967!

During my scientific journey, I have met many inspiring female physicists who have significantly influenced my career. These include: Anna Pachoł, Jutta Kunz, Betti Hartmann, Piret Kuusk, Fay Dowker, Mairi Sakellariadou, and María José Guzmán.
It has also been extremely inspiring to work alongside my younger colleagues, whose passion for physics and determination energize me to keep pushing forward. These include: Mercè Guerrero, Débora Aguiar Gomes, Sofia Vidal, Anna Horváth, Kärt Soieva, and Lupamudra Sarmah.
